Spring in Paris: staying in the heart of the Trocadéro in bloom

January 20, 2025

Every spring, the Trocadéro transforms into an Impressionist painting. Cherry blossoms, golden light, awakening gardens… A few compelling reasons to stay at Maison BARNES Paris Trocadéro between March and May.

Every year, for a few precious weeks between late March and mid-April, Paris becomes something close to unreal. Ornamental cherry trees burst into pink clouds, morning light turns warm and golden, and the gardens seem to hold their breath before giving everything at once. The Trocadéro is at the very heart of it all.

The Blossom Season at Trocadéro

The Trocadéro gardens span nearly 94,000 m² in an English landscape style, planted with centuries-old beeches, Atlas cedars and majestic plane trees. But it is the dozens of Kwanzan cherry trees that steal the show in spring. Their vivid pink pompons, carried on twisted branches above the paved walkways, create a dreamlike setting — with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.

In 2026, the bloom began as early as 24 March, nearly ten days ahead of the usual schedule, driven by a mild winter followed by sunny days. Sakura are extraordinarily sensitive to climate variations: favourable weather can turn an ordinary stroll into an unforgettable experience.

Tip: arrive early in the morning, before 8 a.m., to enjoy the still-empty pathways and the low-angle light that makes every petal glow.

Spring — The Ideal Season for Paris

Beyond the cherry blossoms, spring brings the best conditions for exploring the city. Temperatures hover between 12 and 18°C — perfect for walking between the 16th's museums. The Musée Guimet (6 place d'Iéna), one of the world's largest Asian art museums with over 60,000 artefacts, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Maison de Balzac — with its secret garden overlooking the Eiffel Tower — are all within minutes of the residence.

The city also comes alive with events: the Paris Marathon in April, the European Crafts Days, and the first terraces of the season along the Seine — all without the crowds of July and August.

Other Blossom Spots Nearby

A ten-minute walk away, the Champ-de-Mars has its own cherry trees facing the Iron Lady. For something more discreet, the Parc de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne remains the capital's most exclusive spot for spring flowers, far from well-worn tourist paths.

Staying at the Heart of the Bloom

From Maison BARNES Paris Trocadéro, everything is accessible on foot or within two metro stops. Spring is undoubtedly the season when the residence best reveals its exceptional location: open your window, and Paris is in bloom.
